Solar Lion Process

Solar Lion is committed to providing an exceptional customer experience by being transparent and setting proper expectations when making the decision to go Solar. When you choose a SunPower system, your home solar is backed by a national brand and installed by a local expert who will customize your solar system according to local weather patterns, building materials, and city codes. Solar Lion manages the entire project steps, ensuring seamless transitions between each step. This white glove comprehensive approach guarantees that homeowners receive consistent, high-quality service throughout the entire process.

  • The first step is to conduct a comprehensive site assessment of your property. This involves evaluating various factors such as roof orientation, shading, and energy consumption patterns to determine the optimal placement and sizing of your solar panels. Based on the assessment, our team of experienced engineers will design a customized solar system that meets your specific needs, ensuring maximum energy production and cost savings.

  • The solar installer will create a solar engineering and site design plan that includes the number of panels and where they'll be placed on your roof, the wiring of the system, and how it will be interconnected with the utility. The design plan should also ensure compliance with local fire safety requirements and the installer will submit these plans to your city/county permitting departments and to your utility company. We will keep you informed throughout the permitting process and ensure that all requirements are met to ensure a smooth and timely installation.

  • Once all approvals are in place and your system design is finalized, your certified solar installers will schedule your installation date, provide you with a detailed overview of the installation process and answer any questions you may have. The installation itself typically takes one day, depending on the size and complexity of your system and the layout of your roof.

  • Each city, county, and utility will conduct its own final inspection and approval requirements for solar installations. The city and/or county inspector will visit to make sure that your installation was completed as planned in the granted permit. The inspection process can vary widely varies by locale and utility provider.

  • Once your system has passed all inspections, your installer will be ready to flip the switch for activation! You will receive comprehensive instructions on how to activate your system, set up monitoring, and start enjoying generating your own clean energy.
